BREAD HALWA



Bread halwa is a one of the famous sweet in all countries,it is also known as doubleka meeta.its very simple and tasty.mainly popular in all functions in india.
  • Bread is probably one of the few ingredients that never fail to disappoint me.
  • It is also versatile in characters that you can use it in many ways to create delightful dishes.
  • One of my all time favourite is bread halwa.
  • This european-indian sweet treat can be hard to picture,but take a spoonful of the dessert .
  • In my opinion bread halwa is the indian take on the english classic-bread pudding.
  • Texture is almost similar ,warm and gooey,comes loaded with nuts.
  • Mostly cashews instead of pecans,and doused in desi ghee,much like butter which what makes the pudding so hard to resist digging in to.
  • If you have a sweet tooth ,then you will love bread halwa,more so because it is ridiculously easy to make.
  • Trust passionate indian cooks to  use common ingredient bread.
  • It gives refreshing desi twist unlike other bread-based indian desert  shahi tukada.
  • This one is lighter if you keep a check on the ghee.  

Ingredients to make bread halwa




  • Bread slices-5
  • Sugar-2 cups
  • Cashew(jedipappu) nuts-50gm
  • Kismiss-100gm
  • Almond (badam)nuts-50gm
  • Tarbhujaseeds-50gm
  • Cardamom-4
  • Milk-1 cup
  • Kova(kalakand)-50gm
  • Cherrys-5
  • Ghee-1 cup

         How to make bread halwa

Take a pan add some ghee and place bread slices to it.roasted for both sides.it will turns golden brown color take another kadai add some ghee add cashew,badam,kismiss,tarbhuja seed it turns to golden colour.take a kadai add sugar and add some water it dissolves for 10 minutes.then add bread slices into it make it as a paste .then add milk boil for 2 minutes(boiled milk only).add kova or kalakhand to it.after one minute add 10tsp of ghee.add cardamom for a great taste.then turn of the stove.take it in to a bowl add above fried nuts and garnish with cherrys.i hope sweet lovers most love this sweet.


NOTE

  • dont experiment with ghee quality as it may turns sticky.
  • i used milk bread for this recipe.
  • you store for this for 15 days keep it on refrigerator
